In view of the nature of our business, with the need to offer the best services to our clients we at OCEANIC realized the need for an independent HSE department. This would allow us to FOCUS on the Health, Safety and Welfare of the crew and thus enable us to provide a highly Skilled, Motivated and Safety conscious crew to our client’s offshore installations.
The role of the OCEANIC HSE administrator/supervisor is to brief, monitor and supervise offshore and onshore employees. Liaison with client HSE Advisor and Manager, to implement safety policies required to attain safe working conditions and eliminate possible hazards at work site.
Job Profile of OCEANIC HSE Administrator/Supervisor:

Liaison with HR department to select prospective
crew.

Safety Induction at Base: New crew joining
the rig briefed on the safety Planning, observation and Improvement
cycle. Emphasize safety as requirement for employment.

Prepare and monitor the Emergency Response
Plan in coordination with Client and OCEANIC Operations department.

Visit to rig - Attend pre tour, safety meeting
as also Safety committee meetings. Discuss various issues related
to Health, Safety and Welfare. Hold special meetings with crew.
Mentoring crew where necessary. Interact with OIM/ Client HSE
advisor on Safety Observation/Reporting program, general safety
and participation of crew in the Observation/Reporting program
as required by Client SMS.

Supervision – During rig visit, supervise
and ensure all crew are following safe working practices/procedures
and wear correct PPE.

Keep the Rig Manager updated and well informed
on all Safety issues involving OCEANIC crew working on Client
offshore installations.

Analyze Incidents and find means to ensure
they do not reoccur, with the help of Client HSE advisor, OIM
and Rig Manager.

Communicate to HR and Operation departments,
critical safety issues through safety alerts and reports.
